BestPractices Conference 2009

San Antonio was a beautiful location for this year's BestPractices Conference. With the exception of a little rain on Wednesday the weather was beautiful and afforded a great opportunity for participants to explore the famous San Antonio riverwalk just outside the door of the Hotel Contessa.

During the two-day conference, participants listened to dynamic speakers discussing some of today's most important people-related topics:

  • how to work through artificial harmony to resolve important issues
  • what not to do when developing your people
  • how to overcome personal pitfalls
  • how to run a successful internship program
  • the top trends in HR
  • how to develop your best people
  • how to strategically plan your firm's training program
  • the role of partners in developing people
The breakout sessions on Thursday afternoon fueled discussions, generated ideas, and gave firm members a chance to share innovative ideas.

Thursday night's reception gave everyone a chance to network with other participants, while enjoying the mild San Antonio weather on the patio. Attendees also had a chance to meet our conference sponsors, Alan Smith and Michelle Arnold from Ernst & Morris, and John Mason from CCH.
